The term
strawberry tongue or
raspberry tongue is used for a bright red tongue with pronounced papillae that literally looks like a strawberry. Strawberry tongue occurs in streptococcal infections (
scarlet
fever, scarlatina), but also in
Kawasaki syndrome (mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome). See also under
