BackgroundArnica montana (Mountain tobacco) is a compositae
plant that grows on praires and in mountainous lands in Europe, Asia. Tincture
of arnica is used in trauma treatment. The major allergens are sesquiterpene
lactones and appear to be helenalin and its esters.
